Signature rums from the Canary Islands
Our Story
Constellation’s is a rum brand from the Canary Islands, started by two experienced and creative master distillers, José M. Quevedo and Santiago Bronchales, as a tribute to the Canary skies, the paradise for stargazers, astronomers, and astrophotographers.
The brand has three impersonations, each named and styled after a significant star: Alfa, Orion and Polaris.
All the rums are distilled at the Canaries in traditional copper alambic “armagnacais” and aged in new oak barrels of various origins and toast levels. The maturation takes place in sherry-type soleras.
The founders adhere to the purist approach: minimal intervention and no additives—the distillates, barrels and time do the job. Each of these signature rums is a unique blend of great complexity.
Our Rums
Alfa
This rum is inspired by Alfa, the brightest star in its constellation, which serves as a reference point and guiding beacon. It is a complex blend of various distillates. Medium-bodied, with seductive flavours of candied fruit, vanilla and cocoa beans, and citrus blossom over the background of bonfire and salty notes. Matured in a sherry-type solera for 10 years. No additives. Small batch production.
Singular and fine.
Orion
Orion is among the most prominent and recognisable constellations in the night sky. That is why it inspired the Orion rum of the Constellation’s range. This distinctive full-bodied rum has rich flavours of citrus peel and blossoms, spices and ripe tropical fruit over the elegant backbone of smoky and marine notes. Matured in a sherry-type solera for 15 years.

Polaris
Inspired by Polaris, the bright star reliably guiding sailors and travellers for centuries, it is a lighthouse in the ocean of rums. It is a blend of distillates of outstanding complexity. The result is a fragrant bouquet of exotic fruits, nuts, and vanilla blossoms over the balsamic and mineral background. Matured in a sherry-type solera for 20+ years. No additives. Small batch production. Limited release. Unique and magnificent.
The Founders
José M. Quevedo
José M. Quevedo is a co-owner of Destilerías Aldea and a distinguished Master Rum Maker. José M. belongs to the fourth generation of Master Rum Makers of the Quevedo family. Armed with a degree in Business Studies, José M. has overseen the family enterprise since 2001. Under his leadership, Ron Aldea has become one of Europe’s respected rum authorities and an unquestionable quality benchmark in its home market, the Canary Islands.
Santiago Bronchales
Santiago Bronchales owns the company Blended & Matured and is a Master Rum Maker. Studied oenology and distillation and achieved certification in Fermentation and Distillation by the IBD (Institute of Brewing and Distilling). In 2003, he began his journey in the spirits field, acquiring a solid expertise in rum and whisky with years of experience. Santiago has worked as an Independent Consultant, advising many successful brands and distilleries.
